We are proud to announce that Ray of Light is the 2009 East Coast Champion Part Arabian Stallion. Once again beautifully shown by Heath Rowbottom and prepared to perfection by Viv Motbey, Ray of Lights flamboyant entrance during Finals Night assured him of many new fans .

Ray of Light's first daughter Diamond Road Golden Lady has been sold to David and Marcelle Dugo of Cheval Arabe Park. Golden Lady is especially exciting for David and Marcelle as they used to own her mother, Darnell Lady Sarah. Welcome to the Diamond Road Family David and Marcelle.

H.A Lillian

On Wednesday 28th January, 2009 our treasured friend Heste Arabique Lillian lost her battle for life after being bitten by a snake. She will always be remembered for her loving and kind nature, she was always the first to come up for a cuddle. Watching her grow from an awkward yearling who was bossed around by everyone, to the beautiful golden princess who led the herd with quiet dignity was an honour. She leaves behind two beautiful foals, Diamond Road Aureous and her current palomino colt, only eight weeks old.

Ray Of Light was Reserve Champion Partbred Stallion at the 2008 National Arabian Stud Horse Show in November. Once again we must thank Viv Motbey who prepared him, Irma de Jong who trained him and Heath Rowbottom for doing such a great job with him in the ring.

New Home for Aureous

The East Coast Reserve Champion Colt Diamond Road Aureous has been sold. He will make his home with Samantha Forster of Quakers Hill, NSW who writes:

Thank you both for the wonderful opportunity of owning a horse like Aureous. I was of course a little nervous about buying a horse sight unseen, but from the moment he stepped off the truck I knew I had been given the most wonderful gift. He really is the perfect package - he has the height of a thoroughbred, the elegance of an arab and a colour to die for.

His personality, although cheeky is encouraging for such a young horse, he shows boldness and approaches new environments and obstacles in his stride. He now wears his rugs as part of everyday attire (although I have caught him trying to pull them off), he has be- friended a short stumpy play mate who makes him look even taller than he is, and I have had positive comments from both my farrier and his trainer on how quickly he learns and wants to please. I can hardly wait until he is ready to ride.

Right from the first email you were extremely approachable and made me feel comfortable in asking questions about your horses (this is NOT always the case when it comes to arab studs, some are very intimidating. It was obvious from the beginning you both love your horses and want others to enjoy them as well - it is also obvious in the breeding of the horses you have, you take the time to make that 'perfect' horse. Just like Aureous is exactly what I have always wanted.
