1990 Purebred Mare

Clifton Park Nefisa has been described as one of the most beautiful mares in Australia, and perhaps even the world. Shown sparingly as a young mare, she is an A Class Champion and the dam of champion progeny herself.

Purchased from Sabtah Arabians in early 2006, Nefisa is the culmination of all that we look for in an Arabian horse. After looking at many mares with which to start our purebred program, we purchased Nefisa on reputation alone, without having even seen a photo. Such was the promise this incredible mare held for our fledgling stud, the word of those who had seen her was enough to secure her place in our broodmare band. It is a decision we have never regretted.

Nefisa is a daughter of the ethereal Nile, a National Champion and for many, the epitome of Arabian type. Nile was known for producing very pretty foals with outstanding movement including such greats as Clifton Park Nile Queen, Caneagle Sovereign and Naadella. Nile was sired by the Hadban Enzahi son Mustafa, imported from Germany in the early 1970s and the first Egyptian stallion to come to Australia. Niles dam was the beautiful Nara, a daughter of Hadban Enzahi herself and out of the mare we base our breeding program on, Naadirah.

Nefisa’s dam is the impossibly beautiful Nazelle, a Reserve Australian National Champion (in a class of 60+) and a mare with perhaps the most extreme head of all the Hawley family. Nefisa is Nazelle’s only daughter and as such carries this very precious line into the future. Nazelle is by the imported Jamill son Vision, a glorious chestnut stallion who sired numerous show winners. Nazelle’s dam was Nazli, a Nara daughter by El Shareef imp. It is little wonder Nefisa shows such a striking resemblance to Nara with a pedigree such as this.
