Badet B.G.A.

Badet was bred at Gale Arabians, and is by the imported Spanish stallion Destinado, who spent two seasons here in Australia at Bremervale Arabians in the mid 1980's. Destinado was by the famous stallion Barich de Washoe, perhaps one of the most successful and beautiful pure Spanish stallions ever to live. His dam was the incomparable Zlabiya, a mare who has created her own dynasty in the USA.

Badet is out of one of Gale Arabians best producing mares, Nah-Rehle imp. NZ. Nah-Rehle was a beautiful black/brown mare with a most stunning head, who is the dam of many champion's in both halter and ridden classes. Nah-Rehle was by one of our favourite Hawley bred stallions Nahda (Mustafa x Nara) out of one of Nahda's most famous daughters, Nahdia imp. NZ. Nahda was well known for producing outstanding stock when bred over his own daughters, a sign of a great sire.

A compact and strong mare, Badet has thrown to the Spanish side of her pedigree and even at 20 years old shows no sign of ageing. She loves nothing more than to have her rear end scratched, and like Impy will turn herself around so you can find her itchy spots. When she does deem it appropriate, Badet can move like the wind however being a grand old lady, she prefers to save such performances for special occasions.

Badet has produced one foal for us, a buckskin colt by Amaki's Perlino On Ice. She is currently in foal to Ray of Light for an October 2008 foal.
