The second of our precious Naadya daughters, Naalyta is a tall, athletic chestnut mare who we have leased from Barbara Gale.
From the time Naalyta was a yearling, through until Barbara took her home at nine years old, Naalyta lived in a herd of up to thirty beautiful purebred mares whose owner was unwell, without any handling whatsoever. Although well fed and looked after, she was never caught or even touched. It is a testament to her breeding and temperament that she has adjusted so well to living a life that involves daily rugging, feeding, the vet and farrier…even a tail bag. At eleven years old, she will soon be broken to saddle.
Naalyta was the last foal of Naadya, a daughter of the incomparable mare Naadirah, whose blood runs through most of our herd. Naalyta has inherited from her mother a curious way of looking behind her without turning around that is hard to explain, yet when seen in person, easily identified.
Montabi, the sire of Naalyta, was head stallion at Gale Arabians for many years. An ethereal white stallion, he was the type that dreams are made of. Montabi himself was sired by Rasmoniet RSI (Rashad Ibn Nazeer x Bint Moniet El Nefous), a beautiful chestnut stallion imported from America for a short time by Marion Richmond of Simeon Stud. His dam, Ramses Errabi was a daughter of Ramses Fayek, who proved to be a very useful broodmare in Australia.
Naalyta had one full sister, Naadora, who produced very good foals, both purebred and pinto partbreds. Naalyta has not had any foals and will be bred for the first time in 2007.
