Mariah was a wonderful gift from international judge and all round wonderful lady, Gloria Lanigan. Originally purchased by Gloria as a young filly from Eagleridge Arabians, Mariah was the first horse Gloria had thought good enough to buy since she bought the famous Al Karim Sirhalima back in the early 1970's. David started working with Mariah while she was agisted at Eagleridge, and once the bond between them was forged, how could Gloria do anything but let them be together. Mariah will be broken in this winter and will become David's riding horse before her entry into the broodmare band.
Mariah is a lovely bodied filly with a beautiful head who is maturing nicely. She has huge feet, which should do her well when she starts endurance later in life. She is sired by Tsunami iid, a big grey stallion by Sanadik El Shaklan from the Ruminaja Bahjat daughter, Bint Bint Faaris…David's favourite mare at Eagleridge Arabians. Mariah's dam is a US National Champion Western Pleasure Mare Ophira (imp. USA), a daughter of Kaiyoum and Luz de Fe.
Mariah is the youngest of our mares, and also the only purebred who does not carry the blood of Naadirah. Her bloodlines complement those already in the stud and she will be a valuable outcross, not to mention a much-loved member of the family.
