Australian National Reserve Champion
Ray of Light is one of, and perhaps the most successful Arabian Derivative sire of the last several years. According to the yearly Leading Sires Chart published by Arabian Studs and Stallions, Ray of Light has been in second place to the purebred Crave FF each year since the chart was first released, meaning that he is the Leading Arabian Derivative Stallion in Australia, based on the performance of his progeny.
To us, Ray of Light is everything. He put our farm and our breeding program on the map, and helped solidify the impact of his beautiful dam.
His dam, Amaki's Golden Imp was gifted to us by her breeder as a companion to her sister Amaki's Rabecca, whom we had purchased as our foundation mare. On a whim, we decided to try and breed the old girl, and not finding a stallion any better than her son Amaki's Impressionist, we decided to breed her to him and see what would happen. Eleven months later, at King Estate in Sydney where Golden Imp was kept at that time, a tiny cremello colt was born, on Davids birthday no less...our shining ray of light.
Shown sparingly, Ray of Light went on to win a NSW State Titles Championship, an East Coast Championship and he was twice Australian National Reserve Champion, however both times he was first on points. After this second Australian National Championships, Ray of Light was retired and soon became the phenomena he is today.
At Australia's most prestigious event, Ray of Light has sired no less than eight Australian National Champion offspring, several of them winning multiple times. Further to this, he has sired multiple champions at our most honoured shows including East Coast Champions, NSW Natioanl Champions, VIC Classic and QLD Challenge Champions and of course, Royal Show Champions. He has progeny competing at dressage, team penning, endurance, eventing and everything in between. He truly is one of the greatest Arabian Derivative sires this country has ever seen.
The qualities that Cindy Reich so admired in Ray of Light that day, are prominent in the many offspring this lovely stallion has produced. That said, don't take my word for it, just look at the results. As they say actions speak louder than words, so please enjoy browsing through his progeny below, and if you would like to breed your mare to Ray of Light, or perhaps purchase one of his progeny, please contact us.
