To begin the 2023 show season, we took four horses to the NSW State Titles over the weekend, hosted by the NSW Arabian Horse Association. Three of these horses had never attended a show before...so that was interesting!
Our palomino mare Diamond Road Blond Ambition (Ray of Light x Kie-Al Gypsy Rose) added to her list of accolades, winning her class then being awarded Champion Half Arabian Senior.
Neytiri (Al Kha-zar x Clifton Park Nefisa), who was in Sydney being bred, decided she should try her hand at this showing business. Neytiri won her class however she was not the judges choice for Champion Mare (who went on to be Supreme Purebred).
I was so pleased when people went out of their way to let me know how wonderful it was to see such a feminine and classic Arabian mare in the show ring. I encourage everyone to give positive feedback to others at shows...if you like something, say something! It can make someones day.
Neytifa Al Maas, Neytiri's daughter by Abha Omani, was entered in the yearling purebred filly class. It was all a bit much for her, and I dont think she either trotted or stood still the entire time. Needless to say, she was not successful...and I was a little embarrassed. Maybe next time.
Finally, Impossible Princess DRA (Vesuvio x Amaki's Impre'vu) showed herself very well to gain a third place in her class. I was very proud of her, and look forward to showing her the rest of the season.
Thank you to organisers and to the team for making it all possible.
